Great article by Russell Beattie about the money making practices of cellular companies in which they make you pay to receive text messages.
Personally, when I moved out here to the US from the UK I couldn't believe that you actually had to pay to receive regular calls on your cellphone. I didn't initiate the call, why should I pay? Why is this any different to a regular land line?
It was two years before I caved in and got a cellphone.
Handily, I have a plan that includes unlimited SMS by virtue of the fact that whenever I get an email, I get an SMS message that causes the phone to sync my email. That must happen hundreds of times a day...
